            We at Khaperkheda Thermal Power Station, are committed for maximum generation at lowest possible cost by continual improvement in Quality, Environment, Health and Safety management systems and aspects related to Generation of Electricity.
Khaperkheda TPS is also committed to enhance stakeholders satisfaction by following all applicable legal requirements.


Brief Khaperkheda Thermal Power Station

            Khaperkheda is the oldest Power Station in MahaGenco. The first thermal Power Station at Khaperkheda had an installed capacity of 3 x 10 MW. This was handed over to the nation by the first president of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad on 27th Dec. 1950. With the increasing demand in the state, 4 units of 210 MW capacity were proposed. Of these 2 units of 210 MW capacity each were erected and commissioned on 26th of March 1989 and 8th Jan. 1990. Further two units of 210 MW capacity each were erected and commissioned on 31st March 2000 and 7 March 2001 respectively. The old power stations of 3 x 10 MW capacity were shut down in the year 1976 and 3x30 MW units were closed on 22nd Jun 1991. Construction of new 500MW sets is completed and set was synchronized on 31st March. The 210 MW sets are working exceptionally well having highest PLF in MAHAGENCO since 06-07 t0 10-11. Khaperkheda TPS environment is maintained effectively pleasant by massive plantation of 51.19% of open space with whopping 1,34,104 number of trees surviving after plantation. Khaperkheda TPS has been certified for ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO 14001 – 2004 and ISO 18001:2007.

  NEWS/EVENTS  

  On date 24-Feb-2011, KPKD Unit - IV (210 MW), "Mahagenco" record daily generation :
5.261 MU , PLF : 104.385% , Avg Load : 219.21 MW.
Also KPKD Station PLF - 100.80 % highest in this financial year.

  Mahagenco Team wins the 35th All India Inter State Electricity Boards Bridge Championship held at Lukhnow between 11th to 13th Feb. 2009.
Thus the event was won consecutively two times in succession. Shri Milind Hasabnis and Shri Arun Sarode of Khaperkheda TPS were the members of both the teams.
